Connecting calendars

Google and Microsoft accounts, conflict sources, and choosing where events are created.

BunnyCal uses your calendar twice: reading it so it never offers a slot you’re busy for, and writing to it when a booking is confirmed. These are configured separately.

Supported providers

  • Google Calendar — personal and Workspace accounts
  • Microsoft — Outlook.com and Microsoft 365 / Entra accounts

Connect from Settings → Integrations → Calendars. You can connect several accounts, including more than one from the same provider.

Conflict sources

Every calendar in a connected account can be toggled as a conflict source. Busy events on any enabled calendar remove the overlapping slots from all your booking pages — guests just see fewer times, never the reason.

A typical setup:

CalendarAccountConflictsWrite target
Work — primaryyou@company.com
Work — team eventsyou@company.com
Personalyou@gmail.com
Holidays in United Kingdomyou@gmail.com
Leave holiday feeds off

Subscribed holiday calendars are full of all-day events, and an all-day event reads as busy for the entire day. Enabling one will blank out far more availability than you expect. Use date overrides instead.

Events marked free (rather than busy) are ignored, as are declined invitations — so a meeting you’ve declined won’t block your calendar.

The write target

Exactly one calendar receives confirmed bookings. It’s marked Default in the calendar list, and only one can hold that role at a time.

When a booking is confirmed, BunnyCal creates an event there with the guest as an attendee, the booking questions in the description, and a conferencing link if the event type calls for one. Nothing is ever written to a calendar that’s only a conflict source.

Multiple accounts

Each connection is independent. Connecting a second Google account adds its calendars alongside the first rather than replacing it, and each account has its own Disconnect.

Disconnecting revokes BunnyCal’s token with the provider immediately and stops all reads from that account. Bookings already created stay on the calendar — they’re normal calendar events at that point.

If you disconnect the account holding your write target, you’ll be asked to choose a new one. Until you do, new bookings can’t be confirmed; BunnyCal won’t guess at a replacement.

Permissions

BunnyCal requests read/write access to calendars, which is what creating events with attendees requires. It does not request access to mail, contacts, or files.

If your Workspace or Microsoft 365 tenant requires admin approval for third-party apps, an administrator will need to approve BunnyCal before the connection can complete — the sign-in will otherwise fail with a consent error.
