Troubleshooting sync

Missing slots, stale conflicts, and bookings that didn't reach your calendar.

Nearly every sync report is one of the four below.

A slot I expect isn’t offered

Work down the slot rules in order. In practice it’s usually:

  • A conflict on a calendar you forgot is connected. Check every calendar marked as a conflict source, not just your main one — a personal calendar with an all-day event is the most common culprit.
  • Buffers. A 15-minute after-buffer on a neighbouring meeting removes the slot you’re looking at.
  • Minimum notice. Slots inside the notice window are hidden, so “today” often looks emptier than expected.
  • A daily or weekly cap already reached.

Slots are offered when I’m busy

This means a calendar isn’t being read. Check that the calendar holding the conflicting event is enabled as a conflict source — a newly created calendar in a connected account is off by default and has to be enabled explicitly.

Also check the event itself: BunnyCal ignores events marked free and invitations you’ve declined. An event showing as free on your calendar will not block a slot.

My calendar looks out of date

BunnyCal subscribes to change notifications from Google and Microsoft, so external edits normally appear within seconds, with a periodic full reconciliation as a safety net.

If a calendar is stale, open Settings → Integrations → Calendars and use Resync on that account. If it’s still stale afterwards, the authorisation has likely expired — the account shows a Reconnect badge in that case.

After changing your password

Changing your Google or Microsoft password, or an administrator revoking app access, invalidates BunnyCal's token. Calendars stop updating until you reconnect. This is the most common cause of a calendar that stopped syncing "for no reason".

A booking didn’t reach my calendar

The booking still exists — it’s in your BunnyCal dashboard, and the guest has their confirmation. What failed is the write to your calendar provider.

Check that the account holding your write target isn’t showing Reconnect, and that the target calendar hasn’t been deleted or unshared. Once resolved, open the booking and choose Retry calendar sync.

If the write target was deleted outright, set a new one first — BunnyCal won’t pick a replacement on your behalf, since the wrong choice publishes meetings to a calendar other people may be able to see.
